How to use Yam Accounting

Follow these steps to set up your books. Start with your company bank, then bring in transactions and billing.

  1. 1
    Upload statements

Open Statement, choose Upload Statement, and import a PDF from your linked bank (FNB or Capitec). Assign categories and sections so transactions appear in reports.

  2. 2
    Add customers

Go to Customer and add people or businesses you invoice. Include at least a cellphone number or email address.

  3. 3
    Create invoices

On Invoice, create a quote or invoice for a customer, set the type and expiry date, then add line items and send or download as needed.

  4. 4
    View company reports

Under Reports, open the income statement, balance sheet, or cash flow statement. Pick a date range to see totals built from your classified statement data.
