YAM Accounting helps you manage company details, bank statements, invoices, and financial reports in one place. This guide walks through the main areas of the application.

1. Create your account

Register with your email or cellphone number, then complete company and bank details during sign-up (or later from the dashboard). Bank details are required before you can upload statements.

2. Set up your company

  • Open Company from the menu to review your profile, CIPC registration, and bank account.
  • Use Edit company details to update trading information, tax numbers, directors, contacts, and documents.

3. Upload bank statements

  • Go to Statements and upload PDF or CSV files from supported South African banks.
  • Transactions are parsed and categorised; review and adjust categories where needed.
  • Duplicate uploads of the same file or transaction are ignored to keep your books clean.

4. Customers and invoices

  • Add customers under Customers.
  • Create invoices, add line items, and generate PDF documents for sending to clients.
  • VAT calculation follows your company VAT settings.

5. Reports

Use Reports for income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow views. Filter by date range to match your reporting period.

6. Configuration (administrators)

Bank recurring rules, email templates, and similar settings live under Config where your role allows access.
